ABC Christmas Challenge: W & X

It's already the first Wednesday in November, and that means there is a brand new ABC Christmas Challenge! Our letters this month are W for Winter Wonderland and X for Xtra Special
I picked a cute pair of bears to go walking in a winter wonderland:

I used a die to cut a mask and blended a wintry sky, purposely not over-mixing the two blue shades. I also added some splatters of white Perfect Pearls. With just the ink left over on my purple blending brush from an earlier project, I shaded in a snowy path. I coloured in the big bear's scarf, and paper pieced the little guy's hat and scarf. For the sentiment, I heat-embossed just the "winter wonderland", leaving the smaller words unembossed. I'm adding this to the current Jingle Belles challenge, Not a Creature Was Stirring. Even those these guys are. :D

X for Xtra Special can be interpreted a few different ways. I decided to to go with what, for me, is an extra-special card design:

So hard to photograph! Over the dark blue card base, there is a layer of blue foil cardstock, then a layer of silver glitter cardstock, and on top, white cardstock. These intricate die cuts are a challenge to adhere perfectly, too. :D To go with these layers, I die cut a scripty Merry Christmas from the same silver glitter paper. The close-up below shows off a little of the shimmer and shine.

It's November... time to get those festive cards made! For lots of inspiration, visit the ABC Christmas Challenge blog, where you will see gorgeous cards by my ABC teammates. Make a winter wonderland, or something Xtra special (or both!), and join us!

So love the two bears having a wander in the Winter Wonderland, but the second card drew my eye in particular - great layering and colour scheme - I struggle to put these kinds of layers together but you nailed it. xx

Love your sweet bears taking a stroll, Lindsey and the colour on the scarves and hat really makes things pop. Your second card is just gorgeous with all the shimmer and shine, and your colour choices for the layers are beautiful.
Take care.

Two fabulous cards, and they could not be more different, showcasing how talented you are, going from style to style. Those bears have stolen my heart, and your 2nd card is so elegant.
