SO(S)S: Shopping Our SNARKY Stash!

Tuesday is often a rather ordinary day, but not this one! The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are buddying up with the good folk at Shopping our Stash this week for a snarky stash-shopping challenge!

Since I like nothing better than perusing my stash to make something new, this is the perfect collaboration. Here's what I came up with:

I love these Bird Crazy stamps, and I think this one expresses exactly how I feel when sarcasm zooms over someone else's head. ;) I don't actually own this set, but have had some stamped and in my stash for several weeks thanks to my stamping friend Tracey. (They really do ned to come and nest in my stamp stash soon, though.)
Make sure you check out the snarky inspiration of both the Shopping Our Stash and the our very own design teams! You have until 11:55 pm (EDT) on Monday to join in on the snarky fun.

Supplies: white & black cardstock, Strathmore watercolour paper, Aunthentique BE(you)tiful patterned paper, Tim Holtz Bird Crazy & Rubber Dance Art Stamps sentiment stamps, My Favourite Things black liquorice ink, Gansai watercolour paints, pop dot tape

Snarky Vellum?

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers returns with our latest challenge — V is for Vellum! I don't usually think of vellum for a snarky card, but we have proven it can be done. I've made two cards for today; the first one has absolutely no snark at all:

This card has been developing in my mind since I pinned this card a few weeks ago. What I didn't think about? How to adhere the vellum. I almost always forget to think about that ahead of time. In this case, the brass tacks (lol) seemed to fit the theme. The other problem was the pieces of vellum above the flukes of the anchor. (I asked my sailing aficionado husb what the bottom parts are called...) Without anything to hold them down, they had a tendency to curl up and look goofy. Two microscopic dabs of multi medium matte hold them down nicely and only show if you really look. I could perhaps have used a snarkier sentiment, but I already have my brother-in-law's birthday in mind for this card, and snark would not be appreciated. Sigh.
So then I needed to make a snarky card to make up for it:

I don't have a lot of people stamps, but I do love the attitude on this Queen of the Universe. I paper-pieced her blouse and gave her gold accessories. You can almost hear her disdainfully sarcastic tone, can't you? This time the vellum was easy; I just folded it around the edge of the panel and adhered it to the back. It was only after I made this that I realized I used basically the same layout for both cards.

I'm linking up to the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp
Got some vellum in your collection? Time to break it out and join us! Be sure to check out the creative vellum uses of the rest of the snarky sisters as well as our latest Queen of Snark guest designer, Jane

It's a Snarky Rubber Dance Hop!

The Snarky Sisters have found our people!
There is a one woman company, Rubber Dance Art Stamps, in far off Norway that speaks our language. I don't mean English. I mean SNARK! She makes a whole rubber plate of snark! This divine product of snarkitude must be shared, and we have accepted that challenge.

The plate is called "Sarcasm Superpowers" and it is obviously perfect for our Sisterhood. We want to share this awesomeness with you, so we our hosting our first blog hop, The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers First Annual Spectacular September Snark Off Blog Hop
Here are the hop rules.
Leave a comment on each blog, beginning with my snarky sister Lee
, and ending with Rubber Dance's very own Bibi.
You have until September 28th at 11:55pm to complete the hop.

Here is the entire hop list for you to enjoy:
Lee
Chris
Lindsey (You. are. here.)
Bibi
(If any of the above links aren't working, you will also find the hop list back at the mother ship, the Snarky Sisters blog.)

We will use some sort of free computer tool to pick a random winner and announce it on Wednesday, Oct 1. After all, what's a blog hop without a prize? And we have a plate of "Sarcasm Superpowers" for one lucky commenter.

And finally, a card...
So many excellent sentiments -- which to use? I decided on the perfect one to use as a snarky birthday card for a somewhat stressed-out person:

When I mentioned this sentiment to my always-practical husb, he remarked that people don't really use lemons with tequila, they use limes. And that is how my inside sentiment was born...

Thanks to Google, I was also able to watermark a Patron logo in the background. Seemed only appropriate.
Enjoy this early, snarky start to your weekend! Have fun on the hop and good luck!
