Color Hues: Pink and Green

And just like that, it's April! The first of the month means a new challenge at Color Hues, and we have a pairing that's perfect for spring: PINK and GREEN. Seems to call out for some flowers, doesn't it? So of course I had to find something else I could use:

How about some juicy pink watermelon, instead? Using a mask, I stamped my row of watermelon slices then watercolored them with my Zig markers. At this point, I realized I had the makings of a rare one layer card! I found two inks that went well with the watercolouring, and stamped and embossed my sentiment. It really can't get much easier than that!
I'm adding this to the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp challenge, Anything Goes.

You will see some beautiful floral cards from my teammates on the Color Hues blog, along with a few other fun ideas! Hope you'll join us.

Supplies: Ranger distress watercolour cardstock, Technique Tuesday Sweet Summertime stamps, Versamark, MFT extreme black, Catherine Pooler melon ice & Colorbox fuchsia ink, Wow clear gloss embossing powder, Zig markers

Pin It Now!

I must admit I nearly went with a watermelon theme but the lure of the floral was hard! Fab OLC. :)

I have a big crush on this piece of CAS fabulousness, Lindsey! What a great take on the challenge colours. I started my card earlier, but am not quite sure where I'm going with it at the moment, Jo x

Watermelon=Brilliant! You my dear are really on fire as of late! This is wonderful! I am really trying more CAS and I am getting better but they take me twice as long as a regular card with layers. LOL

I don't know if I even own a watermelon stamp, but it's the perfect choice for pink and green! Pretty sure, it would have never occurred to me. Love the CAS design and the great shading on the watermelon slices!

I am glad to see your use of fruits instead of flowers and this row fo melon was masked and colored so sweetly! Great card, Lindsey!
