Seize the Birthday: Monochromatic

I think it must be Thursday, because it's time for a new Seize the Birthday challenge! Our (always optional) topping for the next two weeks is Monochromatic. Here's mine:

I thought it would be fun to create a monochromatic wreath using my Gina K. builder stencil. We shall not discuss the attempts made before I managed this one that I liked. ;) I found some patterned paper that coordinated, and used a scallop fishtail die to sort of echo the wavy fussy cutting around the wreath. Some Wink of Stella on the dark green *berries*, a sentiment in the centre and I called it done.

I'm happy to welcome my snarky sister Jo as the surprise party guest for the next two months! Be sure to check out all the monochromatic inspiration from her and the rest of the Seize the Birthday team. I hope you'll join us!

Supplies: Neenah white cardstock, Simple Stories Summer Fresh patterned paper, Gina K Tiny Wreath Builder stamps & stencil, Inkadinkado Happy Birthday stamp, Memento new sprout, pear tart, bamboo leaves & cottage ivy ink, Sunny Studio Stamps fishtail banners & Spellbinders circle dies, Wink of Stella marker, foam tape

Pin It Now!

I nearly went with green myself! Love your card, Lindsey, your centre-piece is stunning. Thanks for having me as the party guest - I'm thrilled to be playing with you all, Jo x

What's this with my second least fav. colour? Fabulous job with the wreath builder and I won't ask but there might be something to salvage for a background. I like your design. I love monochromatic, I sometime do it without thinking, now that I want to make one I will probably have a blank.

Shhh! One never discusses the failed attempts. It's only the final outcome that counts. And this is lovely! I love how you have concentric circles in the wreath. I'll be "on it" this weekend!

I must get out my wreath builder. When I see what you and others have done, I wonder why I don't use mine. Hmmm, could it be that I had trouble using it? AFter seeing your's, I think I will give it a go.

As they say, "If at first you don't succeed try, try again." How long has the wreath stencil idea been around? I think you know where I am going with this...I have yet to try it! This came out really well Lindsey! Maybe one day!

I bet I would have had more failed attempts than you 🤪. Well done for persevering because it’s beautifully stamped.

Haha. I seem to always have to remake a wreath builder card. My first attempt is never quite what I plan in my head. I love your final result. Turned out fabulously.

Oh I know all about multiple failed attempts - looks like I am in good company! This turned out great - love using that shape for the patterned paper - I never think of that. The wreath looks terrific.
