ABC Christmas Challenge: N & O

Happy Canada Day! 🍁 I thought I'd celebrate by... showing you some Christmas cards? It just so happens this is also the first Wednesday of July, and so begins a new ABC Christmas Challenge! The second half of this most unusual year brings us to the letters N and O
First up is N for NO FUSS. To me, that must mean Clean and Simple. Here's mine:

I thought one great big sentiment would be a great way to fill the card and keep everything fuss-free. To keep things interesting, I grabbed my Kaleidacolor ink pad to get this fun gradient of colour. Once I stamped it, I realized that if you squinted, it is almost tree-shaped, so I added the branches at the bottom (the green is also part of the Kaleidacolor pad) and a star at the top. It didn't seem like much fuss to add a few smaller sequins here and there as ornaments for the tree. I love that Stampin' Up's rich razzleberry cardstock works so well with the ink pad colours.

In a nicely orchestrated contrast, next we have O is for OVER THE TOP. I wasn't exactly sure what *we* meant by that, so I tried to cover at least two meanings with my card:

I tried to be over the top in how I made my card, so I used six different distress inks in making my night sky before adding the glittery stencilled stars. After I did those, I realized I might have messed myself up for stamping, but I was able to sneak in both my Santa with sleigh and the sentiment. To be over the top, they are both double stamped and embossed - thank you MISTI for that ability! Notice that I also have Santa flying over the top of my tiny house in the forest, die cut from super sparkly white glitter paper.

Yes, it's July, but think how thrilled you'll be in a few months that you've made a head start on your holiday cards! Lots of inspiration on the ABC blog, and you have the entire month to join us!

Happy Canada Day!!! Another reason why Canada is more great than....(your southern neighbor) Love both of these cards, and the reminder that we are half way there. I think you have just inspired me to play along. Thanks for that!

What a great pair of cards, Lindsey! I love the clean simplicity of the first cad which looks very classy and the sight of Santa flying against the beautiful starry sky certainly hits the spot of an over the top card for me!
Hope you had a good Canada day.
Stay safe.
