Gnome for the Holidays at Scrap 'n Stamp

Just in time for the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend, it's the October Scrap 'n Stamp blog hop, and our theme is GNOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! Gnomes have been popular for a while now, and the trend shows no sign of slowing any time soon. Scrap 'n Stamp has a fun variety of gnome stamps and dies to choose from, and I'm using Spellbinders' Holiday Gnomes for my card:

Don't tell anyone, but I have to confess I'm not a huge fan of gnomes. I quite like the ones in this Holiday Gnomes set, though. Not too cute, and a Scandinavian flair. I picked the hairiest (although it's a close call) and coloured him with Copics. For the background, I blended some tumbled glass oxide ink with a little salty ocean for a wintry sky. I didn't worry about masking off the bottom and just faded out the blending. With Memento cottage ivy ink, I added the trees using another stamp in the set. The scene I created didn't really leave enough room for any of the sentiments included in Holiday Gnomes, so I grabbed a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Latte - even though it's a wintry scene, my gnome is very hygge, so I think it works.

A Scrap 'n Stamp blog hop means there's a PRIZE on offer! One lucky commenter will win a $50 gift code to the store - for gnomes or whatever else you might want to add to your stash! The fun starts at the Scrap 'n Stamp blog, and here's the list of all the stops:

When you shop, remember to use my code, 10Lindsey, for 10% off your order. Happy hopping and Happy Thanksgiving!

For someone who doesn't particularly like gnomes you made an awesome card! Love everything about it.

I thought I was the only one who's not 'big' on gnomes! You made a very cute card, regardless :)

I have been seeing a lot cards with gnomes, I seem to like the cutesy ones more but I don’t own a gnome stamp. Your card simple but nice and catching.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, I did not know that. (Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary) a great weekend. I LOVE the blending and trees behind this cutie. Still cannot wrap my head around pigtails with a beard, tee hee, but it is darling as heck!

Interesting that you are not a fan of the Gnomes. It took me a while to decide about the Gnome phenom too. I do like gnomes, but more of the Fairytale real looking type. They are growing on me too. Thanks for the inspiration. Loving the stitched edging on the cards as well.

Love the clean and crisp Nordic style of this card, and how you placed the gnome off cente. I can smell the pines and snow in this scene, well done!

I used to not like gnomes at all....until I fell in love with them. Isn't that strange? I went from yuck to ahhhh. I have several gnome stamp sets now because I love them so much, and a tshirt with them on. Maybe you should have a contest on your personal blog, and give away the gnome stamps to a good home :) Thank you for showing us, and for being honest :)

I love your gnome card! I need to invest in a stamp set, but there are so many I want! Lol. Your gnome is very hygge, and looks cosy nestled in those awesome trees. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

Think Willie Nelson - he's been rocking that look for years

I really like your treatment of the gnome genre here ;) Also not a gnome lover. Not a hater - just haven't loved enough to invest. This card puts gnomes in a good light. And I agree re the hygge and the sentiment - nice choice.

I was never really a fan of gnomes until a few years ago when I bought a zombie gnome for my parents as a joke gift. Now he’s the prized possession in their garden and I’m a certified lover of gnomes :) I really love the trees that come with this gnome set too!

I happen to love gnomes but I do think they're a bit overdone lately...everywhere, not just crafting. This is fabulous though. I love the shades of green and gray.
