Hooray, it's a Seize the Birthday Thursday! Our latest topping should be fun and easy: STRIPES. But if stripes aren't calling to you, we love to see any new birthday card appear in our link-up. Here's my stripy version:
The day I made this, it was a perfect day to sit outside and use my watercolour powders - not too windy is important, I've discovered. ;) I do like to try to work outside with some of the messier media, though. This also gave it a chance to dry more quickly in the warm summer air. While I waited, I die cut the main panel from the same watercolour paper and added the big, quirky sentiment. Then I ran the coloured panel through the same die and inset the stripes. I now also have a colourful cover plate to use for another card! I added three gems to help ground the sentiment. Quick and fun!
Supplies: Canson watercolour paper, Rubber Stampede Swirl Happy Birthday stamp, Versamark, Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist ink, Wow clear gloss embossing powder, Magenta Nuance cerulean & berry watercolour powders, Sugar Pea Designs large striped cover plate die, Studio Katia September crystals

I love the way that you got this paper to look before you die cut it for the stripes. They are frosty and sparkly looking.
Those stripes are so pretty. Love how you inlaid them in the white die cut. You will have to share your card with the cover plate die cut from the watercoloring.
Wow - those watercolour powder panels are gorgeous! The sentiment you chose goes perfectly with the fun panels.
Great coloring of your stripes :)
Such a cool effect! It almost looks like fireworks.
I do not need watercolored powders at least I didn't think I did until I saw this card. I adore the effect you achieved! Well done!
Love the look of the watercoloured pigments and they make awesome stripes, what a great design, Cathy x
Fun stripy card, Lindsey, and you get a twofer out of it - bonus! Need to dig out my powders and play!
The sprinkles of the watercolor powders look pretty and give the card awesome movement! And They go so well with the fun font of your sentiment!!!
