It's a Seize the Birthday Thursday! And while we are always an "anything goes" birthday card challenge, we have a fun optional theme for you starting today... rainbow! 🌈
I decided to make two cards inspired by the theme:
The black card was my first idea...
Rather than cut the letters from coloured cardstock, I cut them from regular white and coloured them with various colours of distress ink before setting them into the black panel. This was a quick and easy card, but I think it looks quite dramatic!
When I cut the letters out of the black cardstock, I thought it would be fun to use them for a second card. And keeping the rainbow *topping* in mind...
This time I used the same inks to sponge a rainbow across some white cardstock. I couldn't resist spraying it with some sparkly mist as well as splatting some white perfect pearls mist on it. It's a bit like a rainbow galaxy card! :D I was able to use the same white strip I cut the letters for the first card as the sentiment strip, backing it with some silver glitter paper to tie in with the sparkly background. Really, the only thing missing is a unicorn. ;)
Rainbow or not, I hope you'll come and join us for this new challenge! Be sure to check out all the different rainbow interpretations from the rest of the design team as well as that of our current surprise party guest, Trina!

These are lovely, Lindsey! Jo x
Fabulously creative getting two cards out of one die!! Love it!
Amazing cards, these! Loving the one with the black background - has such an impact! And the way the colors spread from one corner to all over the card in the other one, that looks great! A rainbow galaxy, indeed!! Haha!
Fantastic cards, you are really getting along with the oxides well. Beautiful background on the second card, love the dramatic look of the first one.
Beautiful rainbow background. Love the splatters. Two beautiful cards.
These are both lovely in rainbow. Always so fun when you can make two cards for the price of one!! :)
Lindsey I love these both! The brightly colored letters really pop off the black background, and the background on the second looks like the Aurora Borealis!
I love these equally Lindsey! Your black cardstock is so deep and looks fabulous with those pops of color! Hope you enjoy your day!
Look at those lovely rainbows! I love them both, especially how that happy birthday pops against the black cardstock!!!
Gotta love a twofer card ;) -- love the black card base with the striking colored sentiment
Two terrific rainbow twofers! The rainbow sentiment really pops on the black. Love the sparkle on the other one. x
My comment is late, just got back from a trip, but these cards are both amazing. That black is so striking and I love the bright colors of the second one too. They are beauteous!
You are so freakin' smart! I absolutely love both of these cards. Well done my friend.
