I made my card the day the sketch was revealed. Wait, what's that you say? It's Thursday now? I know, sigh. The day after I made the card, I gave it away, and you know the old saying about out of sight, out of...? Last night I remembered I needed to get my card entered, and realized I never did photograph it. :( A few texts, an iPod photo appeared, and my work can be displayed!
For reasons that a professional could likely shed some light on, the sketch made me think of scenes in old movies with split screens showing two of the characters talking on the phone. So I have my dog and my birdie characters! Add some colouring, some patterned paper, a few Paper Smooches dies, and done.
Along with SPARKS, I'm going to add this card to Simon Says Stamp's current Anything Goes challenge.
Supplies: white & American Crafts yellow textured cardstock, My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite & Echo Park Country Drive patterned papers, Paper Smooches Woofers and Tweeters stamps & dies, Versafine onyx black ink, Wow clear embossing powder, Paper Smooches Borders 1 & Clouds dies, distress markers, yellow Sharpie, pop-dot tape
Pin It Now!

I see the old movie connection but sorry can't shed any light on why our minds work that way! Your card does tell a little story with that layout and sentiment.

This is adorable! Great take on this week's challenge!
Thanks for joining us this week at Paper Smooches Sparks!
Cute card! I did my sparks challenge last night!
LOL! A professional could shed light on, hmm? I often think professionals would be scared of my brain ;)
I happen to love this card - I can totally see the connection! And me too, out of sight out of mind. Glad I'm not alone in that!
Gorgeous card Lindsey, super cute images.
Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Oh, Lindsey, I'm so glad you were able to get a photo of this adorable card from the recipient and share it with us! If I can have a hamster living in my head, you can have your pooch and birdie "talking" to each other like in the old-fashioned split movie screen shots!! Very creative! (Adore those clouds!) Hugs, Darnell
This is adorable! I love how you used sketch with patterned papers and those clouds are awesome!
Cute card...found your blog thought Darnell!
