Retro Sketches

There's many a week I think I might play along with the current challenge at Retro Sketches -- and then that week slips by, and it doesn't happen. But I'm ready this week -- with several hours to spare! I really liked this week's (RS#13) sketch:

I've been hoarding admiring my Graphic45 The Magic of Oz paper pad for far too long, so I finally cut into it and came up with this:

It always seems kind of weird to make a card with no stamping involved, since card-making is really my excuse to play with rubber stamps! But these papers really do speak for themselves. And at least I stamped a birthday sentiment on the inside.
P.S. Of course I am also entering this in the current Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge!

Supplies: sand & Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red cardstock, Graphic45 The Magic of Oz collection patterned paper, Marvy corner-rounder punch, dimensionals Pin It Now!

Isn't it funny, it's usually not until I'm listing supplies that I think "huh, I didn't use a single stamp?" LOVE this card- I have the same 'problem' with my Graphic 45 paper. It likes to be all neat & tidy and uncut in the pad :)

Hi Lindsey, I've also made cards without any stamping. Sometimes the paper or the embellishment is enough without stamping. In this case I agree the paper alone makes the card very interesting! So glad you played RetroSketches this week!

I never make unstamped cards either, but after seeing this maybe I should! The papers are awesome and they don't need anything else :)

I understand the hoarding, sorry admiration of that paper, it is lovely and perfect on its own with no stamps necessary.

Hi Lindsey! I know what you mean about a card with no stamping ;) But your card is SO Gorgeous - I love sweet Dorothy and her sparkly shoes! A wonderful card!! I must tell you I to "hoard" Graphic45 papers too...I take them out and then keep them again ;) Have a great weekend! {hugs}

That paper rocks and I'm glad you broke it out for us to see (even if it felt weird not to stamp)! Fingers crossed for Simon Says!

so fabulous lindsey!!! no stamping is kinda weird now that I think about it, but your rocked it.

I was obsessed with the ruby slippers when I was younger. My parents made sure I saw them them at the Smithsonian when I was 10 or 11. I love that you featured them on this card.

This is really cute. I feel funny if I make a card without stamping, feels like something is missing.

I also feel weird when I don't have any stamps, but hey, you stamped the inside so that counts. Super cool papers and your mix looks great! It's funny how you can make any sketch CAS--I love that!

This is amazing, Linds! Wow, you should stop hoarding and cut up your papers. Better yet, get more! LOL
