CASEing Paper Crafts Magazine with Donelda, Part I

After I posted a couple of cards inspired by those in the September/October issue of Paper Crafts magazine, fellow card maker Donelda (Wiggy's World) suggested we should challenge each other to pick cards that each of us would CASE (copy and share everything). What a fun idea! I picked the Autumn Button Tree Card card on p. 52 by Katie Gehring. Here is my take on it:

I picked the original card mostly for its layout, so I followed the card design quite closely. Shockingly (for me) there is NO STAMPING on this card! The trees are paint chips! (Inspired by these.) Even though I have more Christmas stamps than anyone should really need, I couldn't find a sentiment that worked for me, so this one is computer-generated. The paper is from Echo Park's Holly Jolly 6"x6" paper pad.
Now you can head over to Donelda's blog to see her interpretation! Tomorrow, we take on her choice from the issue. See you then, I hope!

Supplies: white & Recollections metallic green cardstock, Echo Park Holly Jolly Merry and Bright patterned paper, Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, paint chips, corner-rounding punch, dimensionals Pin It Now!

So cool! I recently used paintchips to make bookmarks, but this is way more creative!

Paint chip trees? I LOVE IT! I especially love that you angled them for a more treelike look. Yes, even Blogger knows "treelike" is a word. The Echo Park just completes the package.

Your card turned out so cute--I absolutely love it! The paint chips cut on the bias are brilliant! I really like how you made your own sentiment, too...it's always cool to see the fonts people choose (I'm a font nerd, I admit it).
