O is for Colour?

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is at it again! We wouldn't want our alphabet challenges to be too obvious, so our latest challenge is O is for One... as in one colour!

Our mascot, Edna, is obviously feeling blue, and I went with the colour blue for my monochromatic card, as well.

I started by embossing a snowflake background on some watercolour paper, then swiped some blue paint over it with a wide brush. While that dried, I stamped and embossed the snowman and sentiment and cut them out. I used holographic embossing powder for some fun shine. Once the base was dry, I die cut it, layered it on blue card stock and then onto the white card. All that was left was to pop up the snowman and sentiment!
Notice the curve in my card? I photographed this on a day that felt like there was 400% humidity -- all my papers seemed as though they'd been dropped in a warm bath. :( Happy to say that once the humidity dropped, my card went back to normal.
For more one-colour cards, check out the designs of my sisters in snark! We are also welcoming our latest guest designer, Anne. Hope you will join us!

Supplies: white & blue cardstock, Strathmore 140 lb watercolour paper, Hero Arts Snow Much Joy & Holiday Conversation & Local King Rubber Stamp Snowflakes stamps, Brilliance Mediterranean blue ink, holographic embossing powder, Koh-in-oor watercolours, Simon Says Stamp postage stamp edge frame die, pop-dot tape

Pin It Now!

Somehow your background reminds me of the Michigan blizzards I remember. Love the coloring, the snowman and sentiment. Like the die also...haven't seen that one before.

As far as I am concerned if there is to be one colour, it has to be blue. You have captured the feeling of a cold snowy day perfectly-funny that you did it on a day of 400% humidity!

That background is perfection! You can totally see the wind! I love it.
As for humidity...I remember seeing a blog friend say something about it feeling humid at 70%. Ours sticks at 90+ most of the time in the summer, and it's grotesque. Add warm to that, and NOPE NOPE NOPE. Check your envelopes for having self-sealed too ;)

I love that snowy background and I'm glad I'm not the only one that suffers from droopy cards. These last couple of weeks have been a nightmare in that department!

Cute as ever, Linds! I love the swirly blue background and your awesome fussy cutting made me think there was a die for that snowman!
