... and my last week guest-designing with this great challenge and team. *sad face*
I found this cue word tricky at first. How to use a rainbow of colours yet keep a clean, simple design? If you're CASology team member Ardyth, you make it look easy, I discovered. I didn't really want to finish off my guest month CASEing (Copying And Sharing Everything) someone else, though. Then I started thinking about the different causes and organizations that use rainbows to symbolize diversity and acceptance, and an idea started to form.
I'm sure there's a rule somewhere that you shouldn't mix ink/embossing colours when paper-piecing, but I also have a feeling there are a lot of unwritten stamping rules I manage to break. I wanted the dragonfly's antennae and trail to be silver and the outline of his body black, so that's what I did. I traced the rectangle of the sentiment with clear glitter pen for a little extra sparkle.
I have had such a good time pretending to be a CASology designer this month, I wanted to share the happiness! So I have a little blog candy offering today:
A Simon Says Stamp/Kelly Purkey "Cheers" stamp set and a galaxy gold ink! I'll pick a winner from the comments on this post next week. In the meantime, check out how the CASology design team has been inspired by this week's cue card. And then I hope you will be inspired to join us!
Supplies: white cardstock, Echo Park Everyday Eclectic patterned paper, Hero Arts dragonfly and sentiment stamps, Versafine onyx black & Versamark inks, clear & silver embossing powder, Wink of Stella clear glitter pen, Marvy-Uchida corner-rounding punch

Breaking stamp rules--sometimes you've got to do it. ;) Your card is sweet and beautiful, and you've managed to find the perfect sentiment. The rainbow wings are pretty! Great take on the cue. You did an awesome job on your GDT!
Lindsey that is a fantastic dragonfly! Such perfect paper piecing!

Lindsey, this is fantastic! I absolutely love dragonflies, and this rainbow glittery one has stolen my heart. As for stamping rules? bah! What are they? I don't believe in them either! ;)
That dragonfly just pops off your card!!! Love the way you incorporated the rainbow into the wings! As for rules...aren't those meant to be broken or something?! :)
It's been so fun having you designing along with us over the last month! I hope you'll continue to visit because I've really enjoyed seeing what you come up with each week!!!
This is beautiful, Linds! I love how you subtly worked rainbow into the butterfly!
I love your gorgeous rainbow dragonfly and the sentiment is perfect! You have rocked as our guest designer this month. Couldn't think of anyone more perfect for the job! :)
OMG there are RULES? No one told me! I absolutely LOVE how you incorporated all the colours inside the dragonfly - too clever! And the bit of sparkle is just perfect. On a side note, I have all my toes done in Pride colours at the moment - Connor loves it :)
This is the very definition of a CAS card! Totally amazing!
Way to "break the rules," Lindsey, because your mix of inking and embossing and paper-piecing is FABULOUS! You have been such a super Guest Designer this month -- I've loved your cards each week and I hope you continue to join us at CASology!
