Today, it's Donelda's turn to pick a card from the March/April issue of Paper Crafts magazine. How fun that she picked her first card from the same page as I did! She chose this fun card from designer Courtney Kelley:
Ahhh. Look at all that awesome white space. I also like the off-centre layout. Here's what I ended up with:
I am ridiculously pleased with how this turned out. I like the cool blue tones, and how I was finally able to use a couple of the many (MANY) punched butterflies I've made from various catalogues and magazines. The beautiful epoxy faux-brad was made by my talented friend Angela. Now, that being said, if I was doing the card over again, I would nudge that top butterfly over to the right a bit, and the brad to the left a little, but I'll accept it as is. ☺ This card is going into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.
I can't wait to see what direction Donelda took with today's inspiration!
Supplies: white caedstock, Unity Giving It All Meaning & Memory Box happy birthday stamps, tumbled glass & broken china distress inks, clear embossing powder, Martha Stewart scoring board & butterfly punches, Stampin' Up scallop border punch, epoxy brad

I love those blue tones against all that white space! Such a beautiful card and I love the dainty butterflies, which are so perfectly placed!
Absolutely lovely CAS card!
gorgeous lindsey... i love the pretty blues.
You are surely right to be ridiculously pleased with the result! It's a stunning beauty! Love that tone of blue, very, very pretty!!
Hugs, Wendy
I love it! That itty bit of scoring around the sentiment, the white space, THAT TEXT STRIP IN BLUE makes me ridiculously happy too. When it matches what you've had in your head, there's no happy feeling quite the same :)
Lindsey, this is SUCH a beautiful card!! Love your take on Courtney's card. The butterflies look amazing and I love how you scored the borders for the sentiment. Great job!!
I'm always doing that to myself - wishing things were just a little bit different once I'm finished. Drives me nuts but I think I'm usually the only one that notices. :) Love the inking over the embossing and that fabulous brad!
Gorgeous CAS card Lindsey, love the shades of blue :)
Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp
hugs Mandy xx
I love it, too! The blues are so gorgeous...I'm glad you kept all the whitespace to make the blue look so crisp (I hate that term for anything other than food, but it really applies here!).
Linds, this is gorgeous! I love all the blues, and the embossed-and-inked strip is just...peaceful. Ahh. Nice use of the faux brad, too! ;)
LOVE the inspiration and I LOVE your take on it! Great use of brads and butterflies! LOVE that embossing:)
eeeek, I love it!! The blues are soooo wonderful. I love the text embossed and the blue over top! Yummy! and such pretty glossy butterfly!
This is a wow card! I haven't see you do anything like this. The scored lines, embossing and sponging on the text panel are fabulous!
