Wintertime Naughty or Nice Reminder

It's the middle of November! I really should start thinking about my Christmas shopping, but in the meantime I've got a mid-month reminder for Naughty or Nice Challenges! We are still walking in a winter wonderland and creating winter scenes. I went for an indoor scene: 

Not at all naughty, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The fireplace grate was the brainstorm of my husb, who felt a proper fireplace needed a grate and happened to have a scrap of black mesh I could use.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 15

Day 15 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas and today, I get to be a designer for both Tracey and today's sponsor, Muse: ChristmasVisions! For the past couple of years, Ardyth has invited me to play along with the regular designers for the tag challenge, and I'm always honoured to play along. The theme this year is ❅SNOW❅. Here's my interpretation: 

A snowman seemed a logical way to go with this theme, and I picked this bowler-hatted dude. He seemed way too cool for traditional red and green, so he gets teal and purple. The snowflakes are so shiny in the right light!

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 14

It's Day 14 of Tracey McNeeley's 25 Days of Christmas Tags! It is time for Concord & 9th's turn in the spotlight today. 

My very first C&9th stamp set is Tree Hugs — out it came for a seasonal spin. 

This is such a fun set as you can make your birch tree as narrow or wide as you like. Since mine are tag-appropriately narrow, my sentiment is on a separate panel, rather than being *carved* into a tree. I don't think that's good for paper birches, anyway. 😉

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 13

Monday... maybe it can be a little better because it's also Day 13 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags? No? Hey, I tried. 😊

Today Tracey welcomes the design team of Neat and Tangled to her blog!

I combined two different sets for a cute but simple tag:

Of course there are tag dies I could have used, but I quite like this little tag stamp! Since I was covering some of the bottom swirls of the tag, I added an extra swirl at the top, which also gave me a nice little spot for a tag hole. Her wings are coated with nice shimmery paint, which of course is impossible to see except in real life.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 12

Day 12 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags and we have Lawn Fawn as our sponsor today! 

I decided to use the oldest Lawn Fawn seasonal stamp I have: 

I actually bought this cute little bunny from a friend who was getting out of stamping, and she threw in the little sentiment with him. Lucky for me the sentiment comes from a set called "Let It Snow" so I was able to track that down to keep you informed. 😝 Since the bunny was a practically perfect fit for my round tag, I simply used him as the border between hill and sky, using a little chalk to colour. The scarf and sled are Copics, and his rosy cheek a watercolour pencil. 

I think part of the reason I like this bunny so much is that he sleds from right to left... he's a bit of a non-conformist.

R is for Remembrance

November 11th: in Canada it is Remembrance Day, a day to honour those who have served for us, and the rights and freedoms we all enjoy. 

It's only fitting then that the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers brings you our latest challenge, R is for REMEMBER. 

Here is my card...

You do have to keep in mind that this is a Snarky Sisters post, so here's the inside:

For the front of the card, I've called on patterned paper to do a lot of the work. The wood part of the chair is coloured with watercolour pencil, but the upholstery is patterned paper as is the wallpaper, baseboard and flooring.
