Welcome to a very special episode of Seize the Birthday, that we are calling Seize the Heroes! While many of us are hunkered down at home, staying safe and avoiding a lot of outside contact, there are many who can't - healthcare workers, essential business staff, transportation workers, just to name a few. Many of the StB design team chose to take advantage of the digital images that My Favorite Things is currently offering that feature doctors and nurses. I made two cards, and even used up a little more patterned paper in the process! My first:
I had planned to make a card with the other nurse image as well - but my printer ink decided to bleed into the Copic colouring! And this after I'd printed everything a couple of days ahead. (My first nurse was just fine. Go figure.) So I moved on to one of the doctor images, and coloured very carefully:
She has a small printer ink smudge near her nose, but I decided I could live with it. Same simple colouring as the first card. I decided to use the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches for my card layout. I found a vaguely chart-looking patterned paper for my background. :D This time I used a die cut for my sentiment.
We have our usual link-up and rules for this special challenge - make a card for any of our current frontline workers and join us. And stay well!
Supplies: (nurse) Neenah white & Stampin' Up basic black cardstock, My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Bluebell patterned paper, MFT Call the Shots digital stamps, Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, MFT stitched rounded rectangle die; (doctor) Neenah white & Stampin' Up basic black cardstock, Pebbles Yours Truly patterned paper, MFT Doctor's Orders digital stamp, Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, MFT double-stitched rectangle & Paper Smooches thanks die

It looks like we all made really good use of these free digi's. So nice to receive them free and send them off to deserving Healthcare workers.
Sorry the ink bled on one of the images but these two look great. I know these cards will be appreciated. It was very nice of MFT to share these images and I know a lot of people will be making cards and sending to heroes in the healthcare and other fields.
These are awesome!!! I probably have an ink smudge in my nose too. 😉. Can’t wait to play!
Time for some catching up, reverse order. Marvelous colouring and arrangements for your Seize the Heroes cards, Lindsey! Hair looks great; far better than my rather feeble attempts, where blonde, rapidly becomes brunette! Ink smudge? Didn't even notice!
hugs~c
these are absolutely wonderful Lindsey! love your coloring, looks so beautiful.
Its the perfect card to honour our superheroes!

Awesome cards for the heroes of this pandemic. Super cute images and great use of that sketch.
I should have thanked you for playing along with the CC&S challenge blog earlier...so consider it official now. *wink* I'm going to print up my cuties today so I can play along.
I had a similar experience with one of my images! I had spent at least 45 minutes coloring her and then decided that I muted her eyes and nose too much with the colored pencils and grabbed a black fine tip marker. Well, you know whee this is going. I ruined it! I was so mad I ripped it up in tiny pieces. I think it was one of my bad days. LOL
Your cards look great! Love the diagonal panel and the heart strip on the second one. I love the chart paper too! I have some of that...what a great idea! Heart hugs and stay safe!
these are fantastic, Lindsey! so sorry you had some printer bleeding issues, but your designs and coloring are outshining any little mishaps.
What delightful cards, I'm sure they will be enjoyed. Thanks for joinig us at CC&S.
Both of these cards turned out fantastic, Lindsey! Love the patterned papers you used and I didn't even notice an ink smudge. 😊 I normally print off digis on copy paper then take them and some card stock to Kinkos or UPS where it's cheap to get copies on their laser printers. But not now of course. Yours are great with your careful coloring!
I think you've done a terrific coloring job on both cards! I always struggle with coloring hair on images of people, but you make it look easy. Thanks for sharing your artwork with us at CC&S!
Gorgeous cards and great design. Thanks for playing along with us at CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creative projects in the future galleries again.
Such great cards for our heroes!!! They are simply wonderful.
