Crooked Jingle Belles

I'm taking a day off from posting tags to share a few cards, instead! At Jingle Belles, Steph and Lauren want us to bring them some figgy pudding — in other words, make a card featuring holiday food and drinks. Both of them, supposedly with no collusion involved, used Leslie Hanna's current Crooked Stamper Sketch Challenge sketch. ;) If it was good enough for them, it was certainly good enough for me.

 And this is Leslie's sketch:

So, yeah, I'm basically ignoring the main design principle of the sketch, that the image and sentiment both overlap the centre panel. But hey, it definitely was my inspiration! I liked the result so much, I ignored it three more times, and used the other three polar bear images that go with the candy cane one:

And the set of four together:

All four came together quickly, with some simple colouring and a variety of patterned paper. I may even make a few more!
I plan to be back tomorrow with, you guessed it, a tag! :D

Supplies: white, red, blue, green & yellow cardstock, patterned paper from Echo Park & Studio Calico, Stamp Barn, Unity, Simon Says Stamp, Technique Tuesday & Essentials by Ellen stamps, Versafine onyx black, Colorbox frost white, Stampin' Up real red, Memento nautical blue, & tumbled glass distress inks, Zing clear & Wow white embossing powder, Spectrum Noir markers, Sharpies,  Prismacolor pencils, distress markers, frosted lace & icicle Stickles

Pin It Now!

Fantastic set of cards - I love the 'no-line' one with the blue, but all those images are great!

I looooove all of these cards. And your sketch elements don't have to overlap the center panel; it's just a serving suggestion.

Thanks so much for playing my sketch challenge!

Wow! This set is so classy. Your co-ordinating colours, images and sentiments work brilliantly every time.

oh my gosh, ALL of these are fabulous... great minimal takes on leslie's sketch... and kind of making me think, "why have i never noticed how flippin' cuuuuuuuute polar bears are?!" lol! having said that, OF COURSE the one you made for our xmas feasting fun at JINGLE BELLES is my very favorite! ♥

ps: given how often stephanie and i do similar things, or use the same sketch, etcetc, it really seems like we MUST be conferring... but srsly... it's absolutely ALWAYS a total coincidence and one of the things that makes me chuckle on nearly a weekly basis!!! :) :) :)

Ok, my jaw is sitting in my lap. These cards are stunning!!! My eye keeps going back to the PEACE card. The way you sponged around the bear image - brilliant! This nosy commentor wants to know what stamp that is and where one can get it?
