Day 9 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags! We're almost up to double digits already! If you haven't been following along, all the details about this fun event (and how you might win a prize!) can be found here.
Today we are welcoming Pink & Main as our guest and sponsor!
Michelle, the owner, generously sent me the new stamp set Holiday Wreaths along with their coordinating dies. So of course I made a wreath tag!
I was obviously in a sparkly mood! I started by embossing the wreath in silver. Then I brought out my Twinkling H2Os. I know they're not the trendiest watercolours around, but they are perfect around the holidays to add extra shimmer. While the wreath was drying, I cut a circle from dark red cardstock, embossed the sentiment, then spritzed it with shimmer mist so it wouldn't feel left out. I also cut a white circle for the back of the tag, and sandwiched the silver cord between the red and white layers.
While I had the set out, I decided to stamp and cut some of the smaller elements and see what I could come up with.
This time I embossed in gold and watercoloured with Gansai Tambi paints. I adhered the smaller twigs and branches first and then added the larger holly bough. And look! It is one of those rare handmade tags where you can actually write on the front. :D
The watercolouring is also for Kathy Racoosin's The Daily Marker 30 Day colouring challenge.
Are you ready to play along? You can be eligible to win a prize by creating your own inspired tags, commenting on the designers' tags, or both! Be sure to visit Tracey's blog to see more inspiration from my Tag Team friends as well as members of the Pink & Main design team.
