Sympathy Cards

I am fortunate in that I haven't had to make a lot of sympathy cards, but already, I have discovered I am in a bit of a rut. All of my cards so far (I think six?) are blue and have flowers. Obviously, I have some subconscious fixation of what a sympathy card should look like. Anyway, this one uses the flower image from the Unity October Kit of the Month combined with a sentiment from Bevy of Butterflies. I made this card for a friend who needs to send a few sympathy cards, so I hope she agrees with my idea of what they should look like! I'm linking this to this week's Unity Friends with Flair. Have a great weekend!

Supplies: white & blue cardstock, Unity October 2010 Kit of the Month Take Time to Laugh & Unity Bevy of Butterflies stamps, Versacolor Atlantic blue ink, dimensionals

  5. That cracks me up! Blue and flowers. Lovely card. I just made a sympathy card last week and was thinking that of all the cards you can give, a sympathy is a great one for being handmade. Thought went into this card for you...so blue with flowers is great because it is handmade.

  10. This is beautiful, Lindsey! I think simple is best when making sympathy cards. The blue is calming for such an occasion but I feel bad for your friend who needs six of them. That is sad!

  14. Your formula certainly worked again, Linds. I like that the blue is not as somber as some other sympathy cards, but still appropriate for the situation.

  15. I tend to do the same thing with sympathy cards... my theme seems to be butterflies. But I think you have a great formula, this is beautiful.

  18. I also have certain ideas about sympathy card....not too bright and it has to be subtle. Yours is perfect! Just my kind of style!
