Mini cards!

Mini cards are so much fun! A small canvas, but lots of scope for creativity. I like to make 3"x3" cards as gift enclosure cards, so I made a Christmas one for the new CAS-ual Fridays challenge (CFC20):

I actually steeled myself to cut into an extra copy of a Christmas choir book I have, even though it's painful to my book-loving heart. I distressed the edges a bit before stamping some gold snowflakes around. The central image is embossed in gold. And the stamp comes pre-distressed, I didn't actually mess up the embossing. :D I'll also throw this into the growing collection for the Less is More challenge to gather 1000 entries this week!

Supplies: green cardstock, DCWV Christmas Collection patterned paper, Christmas carol book, Studio G Joy & Hero Arts Decorate You stamps, Versamark, Antique Linen distress & Colorbox gold inks, clear embossing powder

  1. What a fun mini card! I should try that once as well, I have so mnay cute small stamps that I don't know how to use on a normal size card, but it's a good idea to then make a mini card! Love yours!!

  8. LOL! I am so with you on the cutting up books thing - it hurts my heart! It was worth it for this card though because it's gorgeous and I love that distressed stamp - it looks awesome embossed in gold. :)

  15. Well, at least your book-destroying was for a good cause because it looks perfect on this wee little card! I'm starting to appreciate the "joy" of pre-distressed stamps as well, especially with that gorgeous gold embossing!
