Somehow, we've reached the second half of August, and that means it is time for a new Color Hues challenge! Teammate Julie has picked our new hues, and they are TURQUOISE and CORAL. To me, the pairing has a bit of a Southwestern vibe, so out came a cactus die!
I was pretty excited to find a coral-striped sheet in my paper pad collection! For the cactus and pot, I cut them out of watercolour paper, and blended inks to get the colours I wanted - mermaid lagoon with a bit of twisted citron distress inks for the cactus, and Catherine Pooler polished with a bit of tiara for the pot and blossoms. The two sentiments are stamped and embossed directly on the patterned paper.
Beautiful turquoise and coral cards by my design teammates and our current guest, Linda! I hope you'll be inspired and join us.
Awwww! This is sweet. I love these colors and can't wait to play!
ReplyDeleteIt's really fascinating how each of the DT came up with different interpretations of the color combo this time. Our inspiration has been unique, too. I never gave Southwest a thought, but this card is so much fun! Love the striped background, the adorable cacti, and punny sentiment.
ReplyDeleteVery cute card, interesting combo of colours, great use of that striped paper. The sentiments are perfect and kudos to you for stamping perfectly on the patterned paper.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a surprise to see how we all interpret the combinations and what inspires us. When I first thought up the colours I was thinking tropical island! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous colour combination! I love your desert vibe Lindsey :) Vicky x
ReplyDeletePerfect colors for the SW card you created. Looks like the desert to me. It was so fun to join Color Hues as GD. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just love where your creativity took you with our colors this time. This is such a great card. I am afraid you are stuck with me too! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo fun....love that color pairing and your sweet cactus!
