It's Day 12 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event! And on the twelfth day of Christmas (tags) we welcome guest and sponsor Pinkfresh Studio.
Both of these tags use the sets Merry & Bright Toy Shop and Christmas Wishes. Here's a closer look at the first tag:
To start this tag, I stamped the Christmas lights at the top and bottom of a white cardstock panel. After I coloured the lights, I liked them as is, but the other gift-giver in my house likes a *glow* around the lights, so I sponged a little distress ink around each bulb. The sentiment is embossed in gold pearl embossing powder. Because the size of the panel was dictated by the lights, I cut a custom kraft cardstock tag to fit.
For this tag, I created an ombré tree by stamping it on a scrap of Pinkfresh patterned paper. Fussy-cutting seemed great until I realized how many tiny scalloped edges there were. :D I persevered and also added a tree trunk and shining star. For the tag base, I used one part of the Braided Tag Die set - the larger part of the die was a little too big for this tiny tree, but by partial die cutting using a circle die, I was able to make a smaller base. I really like the look of the perforated arch. I was also able to string some twine through the top hole.
I made a card, too!
I used some of the smaller Toy Shop images to stamp a double border along my cardstock. (I'm still undecided about the decision to make the bottom one upside-down.) I added the sentiment and then scored the double lines on each side. A little silver pearl paper and a red card base finished the card.
