Welcome to Day 11 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event! Have you been playing along? If you haven't, but want to, check out all the details here.
Today our guest and sponsor is the Canadian stamp company, Studio Katia!
Studio Katia sent the Tag Team a bundle of fun goodies... including dies to make slider tags! Of course I had to test drive it... I kept my tag simple, just in case it didn't work out. :D Here it is closed:
And slid open:
Before I started making my tag, I watched this super-helpful video by Studio Katia team member Laura. After watching, this was easy to put together. I didn't worry about making my inside scene too detailed - after all, the interactive feature will capture all the attention!
Tag leader Tracey received the beautiful poinsettia border stamps and die. When we were together at a creative playdate recently, I made sure to stamp one for myself...
It fits beautifully on SK's bookmark die! The sentiment is from the same set.
I received the new snowflakes set. I decided to go CAS and elegant:
The snowflakes are embossed in vintage champagne embossing powder, which just happens to go perfectly with SK's gold sparkle crystals.
And finally, I decided to test the new sparkle glitter:
I stamped the smallest snowflake with Versamark, then used sticky embossing powder to add the glitter. It's so sparkly in real life! Then, risking ink pad and brush, I blended some distress ink over it to set it off. Next I used the coordinating die to cut out the centre of the foil tag (it's the slider part of the slider tag set!). Downsides to using foil: when you die cut it, it shows EVERYTHING; and it is really hard to photograph. :D
Hope you've made it through with me to the end! Don't forget that commenting on designers' tags, or making one or more of your own inspired by today's tags, puts you in the running for a great prize!

Supplies: way too many to list (ask if you are interested!)
All of your tags are so pretty! I am intrigued by that slider tag die. I also love your blue foil tag. I am inspired to head to my newly cleaned, purged and reorganized craft room and "play." It has taken me five days but oh so worth it. :) Still like a few drawers but I can take my time doing them....making tags definitely sounds like more fun today!!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOH boy are these pretty. My eyes went straight to the blue foil tag and the champagne colored snowflakes. All of the tags are lovely. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteI love all your tags, the poinsettia one is beautiful, interactive tags are always fun for all ages (especially the boys no matter how old) The snowflake tag is so elegant, the gems just set it off perfect, then there is the WOW put your sunglasses on tag. Very interesting technique of embedding the snowflake in a die-cut. These are the reason the mojo escaped on Wednesday. Awesome job with all of them.
