It time for another Seize the Birthday Thursday! We had lots of gorgeous floral creations for our last challenge (and of course some fine, flowerless "anything goes" entries) and I think our new topping will be popular, too.
It's BUTTERFLIES! Another theme perfect for summer. Of course, if you have a birthday card you've created without them, we'd love you to link that up, too.
Only one card from me for today's topping, but the butterfly is certainly front and centre:
I used a pretty Technique Tuesday border die to both add a butterfly and cut off part of the front of my card base. If the sponged blue panel seems vaguely familiar, it was created at the same time as I made this Seize the Birthday card. This panel uses Versamark as a subtle resist to the sponged inks, and adds the muted florals to the base. The only other stamping is the embossed sentiment. Definitely a clean and simple card, so I'm adding this to the current CAS Addicted to Stamps and More challenge.
Beautiful butterfly creations abound on the Seize the Birthday blog, from my design teammates and our current surprise party guest, Su! I hope you'll make a birthday card and join the party!
Supplies: Neenah white cardstock, Essentials by Ellen Wish Big & Unity (grab bag) stamps, Versamark, Brilliance Mediterranean blue & mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, blueprint sketch & chipped sapphire distress ink, Wow clear embossing powder, Technique Tuesday butterfly on the border die
Gorgeous card, Lindsey! Not seen this die before - it's a beauty. Funnily enoough a new butterfly stamp set fell onto the doormat today (funny how often that happens) so I'm all set to play along with this challenge, Jo x
ReplyDeleteOoohh! Love the gorgeous shade of blue - and the subtle texture with those florals really sets it off! Love the die cutting too .. love the butterfly created via negative die cutting - looks charming!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely die! Looks fabulous with the blue background.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty, I love that subtle pattern in the background.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool and lovely die-cut Lindsey! Love that you added some interest on the back panel with Versamark! As you can't attract butterflies without flowers around. A sensational job with our topping!
ReplyDeleteThud!!! I absolutely love this card! It is so good looking and classy. I am pinning this one.
ReplyDeleteWait, no Pinterest pin on your blog? Do you have a Pinterest page? I see tons of Lindsey M, but not you.
ReplyDeleteHoly Wow! This is all kinds of fabulous Lindsey! That gorgeous die (I've never seen it before) paired with that beautiful blue inked background is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, love the butterfly and that delicate floral border, stunning! Cathy x

ReplyDeleteFabulous monochromatic card... love that die - let me know if ever decide to part with it. ;) The background panel is beautiful - well done my friend.
