The Snarky Sisters and I are back for our latest challenge!
Q is for Queen! We are looking for a crown or bling on your project. I managed to use one of each:
I had so much fun with this card! I started with a Mad Hatter graphic from The Graphics Fairy. I reduced it in size, recoloured it, copied and then hit paste repeatedly until I had my background pattern. I stamped and embossed the teacups on top. The washi tape is homemade -- if I ever find Union Jack washi, I'm buying it! This is the second time I've made my own. Both the blue and the red elements are from tea boxes -- and fit perfectly with the challenge theme. To finish off, I stamped and embossed the sentiment and popped a rhinestone on top of the crown. Fit for a queen, don't you think?
My sisters of snark have come up with some majestic ideas as always -- as has this week's guest designer, Katie Melhus! Be sure to check them out, then make sure your tiara is on and join us!
Supplies: white and royal blue cardstock, tissue paper, Unity The Little things teacups and Viva Las VegaStamps sentiment stamps, Brilliance Mediterranean blue & Versamark inks, clear and Ranger real red embossing powder, Spellbinders labels four die, Stampin' Up basic rhinestone, pop-dot tape
Love how you've done the background, Lindsey! I'm a huge AIW fan. Fabulous colors and design. Beautiful! xxD
ReplyDeleteHoly Crow! You MADE that background paper?! And the Washi tape?! I must bow down to your awesomeness! What a brilliant idea to use parts of a box of tea on your card! Love this!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh if I ever find Union Jack washi I am buying us BOTH some! That background paper is super cool and I love the image!! You rocked this one my snarky sister!!
ReplyDeleteFit for a queen, indeed! I'm so impressed with all your unique handmade details, you go girl! Great work :)

ReplyDeleteAwesome job on the card, the background paper and the wachi taper fabulous. Just a great card for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteLove the washi tape. I haven't tried to make my own yet. Yours looks fab! The Mad Hatter image is a great idea for the background of this card.
ReplyDeleteLindsey, AWESOME CARD! ... I think I may make up one of my own with a slight twist, how about an invitation to HAVE tea with the Queen? ME...grin.
ReplyDeletePS: I will keep an eye out for Union Jack Washi just for you.. Smile
This is too darn cute. My best friend (big sister as I call her) is from England. Not sure if I'll have time to join this week as I just returned from a cruise and am still trying to get back to "FL" time rather than "Island" time. But I really like this idea and layout.
ReplyDeleteLove the Mad Hatter background! Great way to recycle...awesome card!
ReplyDeleteThis card is awesome, Linds! Love the kitschy sentiment, the background and washi you made!!
ReplyDeleteThat washi is incredible!!! You're going to have to share how you did it, you know :)
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant! So many awesome details! Love the patterned paper you created and the teacups look really cool embossed on the top of it. And you made that washi tape? You are too cool.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty tea tin too! ;)
Hey sugar, I'd have tea with you over the queen any day. Fabulously fun card. Hope you are doing well. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! The Mad Hatter in the background is perfect and subtle enough that he doesn't take over the card. Great card and no, I haven't had tea with Queen. I don't think I could behave myself that long.
ReplyDeleteThis card is so cool! That is so awesome that you made the fab background! I love the washi!
