The latest challenge theme at Shopping our Stash (where a bunch of my Snarky Sisters are on the DT) is Tax Man: use numbers on your project. Since I needed a birthday card, this seemed a perfect opportunity to join in.
Lots of numbers here, on both the patterned paper and the clock stamp that I embossed in gold before sponging the background with distress inks. I didn't have quite the sentiment I wanted in stamp form, so turned to the computer to make my own. And it all seems very pleasant until you get to the inside sentiment...
I was nice enough not to specify the actual number. ;) To limit the number of layers on the inside, I edged the patterned paper with marker instead of matting it with black, as I did on the front.
Did you notice how I mentioned The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers back at the beginning of this post? The current challenge, Q is for Queen, ends tomorrow at midnight -- why not join us? All you need is a project that has a crown or bling. Our next challenge starts bright and early on Saturday!
Supplies: white, black & Stampin' Up Naturals ivory cardstock, Echo Park Lime Twist Fly a Kite patterned paper, Hero Arts Time to Stamp, Versamark, bundled sage & peeled paint inks, pirate's gold embossing powder, Spellbinders Page Maps Potpourri die, black Sharpie, pop dot tape
LOL about the sentiment. The embossed clocks are GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteI really like this, Lindsey. Your clocks and numbers are meshed perfectly and your sentiment is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Easter.

OMG! I just love this card! Love the gold embossed clocks, but by far the best part of your card is that snarky sentiment on the inside!!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I really like this one. Haven't seen you post in awhile and now I know why...you were working trying to come up with the BEST birthday sentiment. You did!! Wish I'd thought of it for a friend that is turning 70 this year. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteSUPER card! The clocks are beautiful, and you pulled off adding a layer of patterned paper which I could never do. Also, the home-made sentiments look quite professional!
