Seize the Birthday: Three Shades of Green

Happy Seize the Birthday Thursday! We have a brand new *topping* for you: Three Shades of Green. Of course, as always, any birthday card is welcome, green or not.
This is the third day in a row that green has been a major theme in my cards, which is unusual since it is not one of my go-to colours. Here's today's version:

To accommodate triple greens, I brought out this leaf stencil. Masking off the right side of the panel, I sponged the lightest green, rotated my stencil, and repeated twice. Next I grabbed this big birthday sentiment, stamped it and embossed it in sparkle embossing powder. I decided to add a fancy die cut edge to the right side so some striped paper could peek through. For a final step, I added three translucent green gems.
I'm adding this to the STAMPlorations March anything goes stencil challenge and Time Out's 7th Birthday Challenge.

The StB design team has filled the blog today with glorious green birthday creations! I hope you will play along with a birthday card of your own.

Supplies: Neenah white cardstock, MFT Black & White Stripes patterned paper, Studio Katia It's Your Birthday stamp, Versafine onyx black, Catherine Pooler melon ice, Memento bamboo leaves & cottage ivy ink, Wow clear sparkle embossing powder, Winnie & Walter Scenery: The Leaf Effect stencil, Sunny Studio Slimline Basic Borders die, Studio Katia May crystals

  2. Gorgeous card, Lindsey. Love how you used different shades of green on your overlapping leaves. Putting the sentiment about 1/3 on the leaves and 2/3 off--brilliant design choice, and I like that balancing striped border. Finally, I get to say to you...thanks so much for playing along at Time Out.

  11. Love the fancy die edge to balance the eye so the leaves don't take all the glory, even though they rightfully should! Such a pretty card! Enjoy your Saturday!

  18. Crushing over your leafy card! I need to remember that stencils don't always need to cover the entire panel, which is what I typically do! Thank you for the 'switch it up' inspiration!
