After a refreshing (okay, not really, it was December, after all) break, Seize the Birthday is back! Our first "topping", picked by teammate Barb, is ❆Snowy Background❆. I tend to keep snowflakes for Christmas cards, so this was a bit of a challenge for me. To make me feel better, I used a colour as far from Christmas as I could imagine:
To go with having to use snowflakes for a non-Christmas theme... it's a one-layer card! I was obviously way thrown off my usual game by this whole snow thing. :D I die cut the snowflakes from masking paper and arranged them at the top of my card before blending peach-coloured ink over them. The sentiment is stamped in the same ink - and I didn't even heat-emboss it! Obviously some doppelgänger made this. LOL!
Lots of wintry birthday inspiration from my Seize the Birthday teammates - and of course, we always welcome any birthday card in our link-up, so if snow isn't your thing (and honestly? It's not really mine) join us anyway!
Supplies: Neenah white cardstock, Sunny Studio Stamps Daffodil Dreams stamp, Catherine Pooler bellini ink, Tim Holtz/Sizzix mini paper snowflakes dies
This is beautiful, and I love your non traditional colored snowy background. And, one layer...wow, that is like the trifecta of challenges.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!! and I love the choice of an "off-season" color.
ReplyDeleteLindsey, I think your snowflakes are just great, and to have the sentiment match is very eye catching! And I say YAY for one layer cards!!~ Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat snowy card even if you are not a snow person. I am really not either that is why you will find me doing my winters in Florida. I like snow, just somewhere else. What is a doppelgänger ?
ReplyDeleteLove the non-traditional colors, Lindsey! Such a great CAS card! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely soft CAS card! Love the color you used too
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Lindsey, love the soft peach colour, beautifully CAS, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteApplauding your very talented doppelgänger for creating a such a peachy (sorry...had to) one-layered snowflake birthday card! Beautiful! I still have plenty of my snowflake dies/stamps/stencils out so...thinking cap on! Mine, however, will not be one-layered; I so can NOT do those!

Love your peachy background for the snowflakes. Pretty card Lindsey.
ReplyDeleteIts a beautiful twist from the usual cards you end up making given this topping! I love the color of peachy-pink for the snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteThe snowflakes look like flowers! So pretty in the peach-y background! A beautiful CAS card, Lindsey!
ReplyDeleteHow fab that you went off-piste and went with peachy snowflakes! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! Peachy snowflakes - unique & fabulous. You know my feelings on snow - hence the reason I went a little non-traditional with mine too. Great card my friend.
