Happy Monday! Welcome to Day 23, and the last week of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Today we are welcoming a brand new guest and sponsor, Penguin Palace!
Penguin Palace is a relatively new Canadian stamp company. So new, in fact, that so far there are not a lot of Christmas products. But who are we to let that stop us? ;) My first tag:
These cute festive libations are from the Fun Night Out set. The tag base I'm using? It was part of a die set I won the very first time I participated in Tracey's tag event! It seemed appropriate to use it, and it was just the right size as well. I stamped and embossed the four images, gave them some simple colouring - as well as writing "VIN" on the bottle label, then added a patterned paper sentiment. Quick and cute!
For my second tag, I may have thought outside the box a little too much. :D You can let me know what you think...
This tag started its life as... a disco dance floor. I stamped it twice, back to back, and embossed it in silver on watercolour paper. Red and green Twinkling H2Os make it shimmery in real life. I was going for a stained glass ornament feel, but I'm still undecided about it. I do like the 3D optical illusion it gives. Back when I was a teacher, two students had parents who would give me stained glass ornaments they had made, and that's where my inspiration arose.
Since making a card each day this year is my own personal challenge, I decided it was okay to mix a couple of other stamps in:
This cute little kitty is wearing a top hat in the Fun Night Out set, but with a little masking, I was able to switch it out for a Santa hat. Her outfit definitely works for a festive party - not that we're having those this year. :( The snowflake patterned paper works nicely with her navy pencil skirt. I also added a stamped and embossed sentiment from a very old Hero Arts set.
As always, lots of inspiration on today's tag post! Remember, you can be eligible for one of our many prizes by commenting on today's tags and/or by being inspired to create a tag of your own! I hope you will join in on the fun.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great variety! Love the alcoholic drinks :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute "drink" card, yes tis the season for it for sure. Interesting second tag, I was positive it was a 3D tag. I guess you achieved your plan Twinkling H20s just don't show up in pictures but I have some so I'm enjoying knowing it sparkles. I might have a drink die in my stash. no beer though.
ReplyDeleteThe red and green does look like stained glass. Cute tags and a beautiful card. Wish I had some of that blue paper. It's grand. [Bunny]

ReplyDeleteYou did such a great job making your stamps into Christmas tag and a card. Very clever and creative. I am especially impressed with your dance floor conversion to stained glass.
ReplyDeleteFun tag! I am still convinced the 2nd card may be 3D LOL. I need to check that stamp out. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteThese tags and card turned out so cute I like what you done on them and how you turned that stamp on the second tag into a 3D tag such a neat idea and the kitty is just adorable with her Santa hat on
