It's Thursday (don't worry, I double-checked my pandemic calendar) and that means a new Seize the Birthday challenge: All About Summer! Ahh, summer. I suppose if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, you can look upon this as equivalent to a Christmas in July challenge. :D For me, I cannot wait until summer really settles in and gives us some warm, sunny weather.
Like a number of my design team colleagues, summer made me think of the beach/water:
As always, our theme is an option - we welcome all newly created birthday cards! Surprise party guest Jo and the StB design team have lots of happy summer inspiration to get your ideas flowing. I hope you will join us!
Supplies: Neenah white cardstock, Yupo paper, MFT Beach Buds stamps & dies, Versafine onyx black ink, Wow clear embossing powder, Jacquard Piñata Baja blue & rainforest green alcohol inks, Crafter's Companion gold foil, Copic markers, MFT Blueprints 24 & wonky stitched rectangle dies, foam tape
So very fun, Lindsey, and perfect for summer. Love those shades on your little crab.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun summer card, but now I want to watch the little mermaid...
ReplyDeleteFun background for your little crab, by the way, LOVE his shades!
ReplyDeleteLindsey this is such a fun card and thank you for letting me know what day it is. I thought it was Friday and was trying to stay up late! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card, love the depth in that gorgeous blue background and what a cool little crab, his sunnies are hot! Cathy x
ReplyDeleteWow that background is fabulous, haven't managed to find Yupo paper around here (got a link?) super adorable card.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun card and I so enjoyed reading your blog post for this one. You made a CAS card and put a lot of detail on that crab!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!!! I think I may have some summer supplies. hahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteAdorable lobster with his glasses going on :)
ReplyDeleteHow cute is your floating/sunbathing crab, complete with snazzy shades and lovely ocean surroundings! Using alcohol inks for the water: clever! Anytime I dive into the inks + Yupo, I forget to use 'restraint' and wind up with wayyyyy too much colour (if there is such a thing!). Fun card and definitely speaks summer!

I thought that little crab was in the water, love you used alcohol inks to create that background. Looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI adore your little crab in his polaroid sunglasses. Love your watercolored sea too. Your CAS card has a lot of love put into it with great attention to details. HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a nice, sparkling card, wouldn't it! Wish I could see the gold speckles though! But even without it, the card is looking awesome! Especially love the cool crabby and the soft tones of the ocean!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us in our DT Call over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge ! Good luck ! 🍀
ReplyDeleteOh Lindsey, that is such a cute sentiment with that crab image. Love your background too, it looks like water.
