It's time for another Seize the Birthday Thursday! We had a terrific turnout for our last Anything Goes challenge.
This week our optional topping is SEQUINS! You don't have to put sequins on your birthday card to enter, but they can add a fun bit of bling to a card. Here's mine:
This card is inspired by our challenge leader, Nancy! A few days ago for The Daily Marker 30 Day colouring challenge, Nancy posted this card, which reminded me of this stamp that I chose to use. I watercoloured the roses and leaves with Zig markers, then used a pale blue watercolour pencil to outline the image. The blue panel is stamped with a rose background stamp in a shimmery blue ink, which I also used for the sentiment.
Be sure to check out the sequinned creations of the rest of the Seize the Birthday team, and our newest surprise party guest, Trina! I hope you'll join us with your own birthday card creation.
Supplies: white & light & royal blue cardstock, Ranger/Tim Holtz distress watercolour cardstock, Great Impressions Rose Trio & Inkadinkado Happy Birthday stamps, Versafine onyx black & Brilliance pearlescent sky blue inks, Hero Arts white satin pearl embossing powder, Zig markers, Derwent sky blue watercolour pencil, Spellbinders circle & Nellie's Multidies rectangle dies, Little Things from Lucy's cards sparkling rainbow sequins, fun foam
This is gorgeous, Lindsay! Jo x
ReplyDeletePretty water colored flowers!
ReplyDeleteYou are the sweetest! So glad I could inspire you to get out your similar stamp. However, I think yours looks amazing and so much better! LOVE that you used the stamp for the background paper too. Genius!! I NEVER think of that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Your coloring of the roses is beautiful and I love the way you stamped the background paper with the image also.
ReplyDeleteThat what it is all about. Inspiring someone with your artwork. Great job Lindsey and I see that Nancy of happy too.
ReplyDeleteLovely birthday card, Lindsey. Your watercolouring is beautiful. Interesting how you used a blue pencil to outline the image... I should put my pencils to use more often! x
ReplyDeleteAwesome card, I love the blue background paper you "made"...so clever and the roses are gorgeous! It is always nice when a team mate inspires us!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Lindsey!
Isn't that awesome!!! Love your blue and red card, Lindsey. That background with more stamped roses - I particularly liked it. Always find it difficult to get some subtle background to suite what you have as the focal image - but this looks wonderful! Great card, Lindsey!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Lindsey! Love the roses embossed in silver, along with your simple & classic layout.
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! Fabulous colouring - love the light blue accent around the flowers.... and you know how much I love the red.
