Hibernating (or attempting to) through February meant no Christmas cards were made, despite thinking I might attempt to make them throughout the year to prevent crunch-time stress. But now it's March, and Merry Monday has an easy prompt, so here I am!
Red and green! I can do that. In fact... I made a one-layer card. Rare for me! And it only took fourteen stamps, six inks, and one embossing powder!
I am ridiculously happy with this card. Although a lot of the credit must go to Jennifer McGuire and her tutorial on Stretch Your Stamps 2 for using floral builder stamps. There's a whole lot of multi-layer stamping and masking going on here -- very soon after I got this set, I decided I could live with the fact that I will never master lining the layers up perfectly, and that's okay.
Hooray! That's three Christmas cards for 2015! :D
Supplies: Neenah solar white 110 lb cardstock, WPlus9 Pretty Poinsettia & Papertrey Ink Thing Big Favourites #8 stamps, Memento ladybug, rhubarb stalk, bamboo leaves & cottage ivy, Brilliance galaxy gold & Versafine inks, pirate's gold embossing powder
This is a beautiful Christmas card! Great masking and layering. Thank you for joining us at Merry Monday, Lindsey!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, such a great design. Thank you for joining us for Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is gorgeous!! Now I want to know how you did those flowers! Some day I'll actually sign up for an on line class so that I won't look at it until at least 6 months down the road. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou should be ridiculously happy with this card; it's gorgeous. Lovely gold accents too.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card. I LOVE making Christmas cards this time of year. I have fresh ideas to draw from. Yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful one layer cards, Lindsey! Love your placement of the poinsettias and the big, embossed sentiment! An awesome OLC! Thanks for sharing it with us at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty how you stamped in opposite corners. The poinsettia's are beautiful! Thanks for playing Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove this card. The stamping is beautiful. I like 2, 3, 4-step stamps, but I don't always line them up right. My cards look more like Picasso did them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful one layer Christmas card, I love the layered flowers and the gold strip. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday. Could also be linked to One Layered Christmas Card Challenge.
ReplyDeleteHOW IS IT that the most CAS cards end up having a way longer supply list than the fussiest ones? This is absolutely a masterpiece - so much dimension in one layer, it's freaking stunning!
