Green Thumb

I'm playing along with the current (for another 22 hours or so) CAS(E) this Sketch challenge! Here's Lisa's sketch:

And here's my interpretation of it:

I stayed fairly true to the sketch, I think, except for making the focal point larger. And I don't generally sew on cards, so I scored the top of the banner, instead. I really like this Papertrey Ink gardening set, and have no idea why I don't use it more often. And right now it's reminding me that I could go buy some seeds soon to get a head start on growing a few of my summer garden essentials. It's such a nice way to ignore the reality that is an Ontario February.
I'm also linking this card up (surprise, surprise) to My Graphico's current Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies: cream & Stampin' Up naturals ivory cardstock, Bella Blvd. All Inclusive patterned paper, Papertrey Ink garden variety stamps, Stampin' Up garden green & chocolate chip inks, Papertrey Ink garden variety dies, Spellbinders oval die, dimensionals

  1. Seeds? Crazy talk ;) lol!
I love your take on the sketch! Their CAS elements make it so easy to adapt for what you've got & feel like using.

  2. Have to admit that gardening is SO not my thing (I know, my mil doesn't understand either! lol!), but this card is fantastic! I love the earthy colours and the rounded edge of your banner! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

  3. So cute! Love those PTI images and the rounded bottom of your banner. Thanks for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

Not much gardening going on here. Our soil is on the thin side and most veggies and flowers don't appreciate a lot of salt spray! LOL! Wish we could get a little garden growing though...

  4. This is such a great design Lindsey. The colours are perfect, one brighter and the other two more muted. The background adds interest but doesn't take away from the cute watering can and tools. The curved baseline on your background panel is a nice touch too. I am not thinking about my overwhelming garden at all. That is the nice thing about the snow it covers a multitude of weeds!
