Growing in Unity {Day 2}
As promised, today I have a slightly more masculine card as my Growing in Unity offering. Back in the spring I placed a Unity order, as there was a sale that was too good to pass up. As part of the offer, you could choose between two Itty Bittys (Bitties???) if your order reached a minimum level. Of course I hit the final order button and then did a mental forehead slap -- I hadn't requested my Itty Bity! I immediately emailed and begged forgiveness. Unity was awesome, and I got Wheely Fun in the mail with my order. But had I used it yet? Time to correct that oversight.
Is this not the cutest for a boy? I briefly considered paper-piecing the vehicles, but decided they were maybe a little small. (Especially since I'd have to cut out all the little windows!) Instead they are coloured with watercolour pencils. To me, the grass in front is like peering from the median at a line of traffic. The result is a cute card for a boy, I think.
Leaving a comment today and every day this week will put you in the running for two Itty Bitty stamps (perhaps even this one!), generously provided by Unity Stamps. And of course I'll be back tomorrow with another Unity card.
Supplies: white & Stampin' Up old olive cardstock, Recollections gingham patterned paper, Unity Wheely Fun stamps, Memento tuxedo black and Paris dusk inks, Staedtler watercolour pencils, Memory Box puffy clouds & My Favorite Things fresh cut grass dies
Definitely a cute boy card! My go-tos are cars & robots :) Love the grass, and wouldn't it be nice if the sky occasionally had a gingham pattern? lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card! I have that stamp too - and haven't inked it yet :( Love how you cut the clouds out from the patterned paper.

ReplyDeleteEeek, I didn't even know you owned this itty bitty! I've had it for a while and haven't even inked it up. I love how you've trimmed it out just at the top here and those negative clouds are seriously awesome!
ReplyDeleteLindsey, your writing technique is fabulous. You are the second person that I have encountered today that had mentioned a facepalm...LOL. The peeps at Unity are Top Notch. The sales are ALWAYS too good to pass up. They really know how to keep their customers. The "family" of Unity friends, followers, customers, and staff are WONDERFUL. Love your little card and agree that the grass gives you a visual effect much like a median.
ReplyDeleteCute! That gingham makes such a wonderful sky!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, I have used that sentiment with a bike stamp.
