The First Hambo Hoedown Challenge

There's a new challenge blog in blogland called the Hambo Hoedown. Sponsored by Hambo Stamps, they are offering a free digital image that participants can use in their entry. Their theme this week is football, which is not exactly a big draw for me. But as soon as I saw the little football jersey-wearing bear, I thought of my husband's aunt. She's a huge BC Lions football fan and has had season's tickets forever. With her birthday coming up, I knew I had her card.

In case you can't tell, the Lions' team colours are orange and black. I coloured the bear with Prismacolor pencils and layered him up. I thought about cutting him out and popping him up on a white layer, but decided that might be a little fussy for a football card. ;) Amazingly, I had no football-related sentiment stamps, so that is computer-generated. (If you're not familiar with the Canadian Football League, the season runs from June to November. And yes, I had to double-check that with my husb...)

Supplies: white & orange cardstock. Hambo Stamps digital image, Prismacolor pencils

  1. Aw, what a cute little bear :)
Yep, I wouldn't be jumping at the chance to make a football-related card, either, but you've done such a nice job, and I'm sure your aunt-in-law is going to adore it.
