Time for Valentines at Crafty Creations Challenges

This week at Crafty Creations Challenges, we're looking for Valentine-themed projects -- after all, Valentine's Day is less than a month away! I've got two heart-related cards to help get your ideas flowing.

It's a one-layer card! Even though I'm all about keeping my cards clean and simple, I rarely make one-layer cards. Somehow, they always seem too plain. However, after stamping these hearts and trying to layer them several different ways, I realized they were calling out to just be right on the card base. I also have to share my (very) unlikely inspiration:

Don't worry, I'm not equating myself to Matisse. I used this piece a number of times in the classroom as part of an art lesson in collage. When I was looking at my heart stamps, trying to decide what to do with them, I thought of this and using them as a tower.
My second card has no links to modernist art:

Instead, it has candy hearts! I stamped each heart on a different colour of cardstock with a coordinating ink. This easy frame is fun to use when it's a card you don't plan to send in the mail.
Have you started your Valentine crafting yet? Link your projects up to our challenge and you might win a great prize from this week's sponsor, Whiff of Joy. Plus, the rest of the design team will be sure to inspire you.

Supplies: (tower of love) white cardstock, Hero Arts heart in a heart, dot heart, star heart & spiral heart stamps, Colorbox orchid pastel, lime pastel, blue lagoon & lipstick red chalk inks; (candy hearts) white, pink, blue, green, yellow & Stampin' Up almost amethyst textured cardstock, Craft Smart candy hearts, Hero Arts envelope pattern & Unity All Seasons stamps, Colorbox orchid, cyan, fresh green, canary & Stampin' Up lavender lace inks, clear embossing powder Pin It Now!

Both of these are fun, Linds! The tower of hearts really looks like it's teetering and full of movement. The box of heart candies is so cute!

What cool, modern takes on Valentine's Day! Yes, I agree that first card looks great as a one-layer. It has such pretty colors. The box on the second card is super clever! The envelope pattern in the background is a great touch! I love clicking on the Crafty Creations and seeing you there :)
